A Prince Albert National Park poster from a wooded point: a curved sand beach running into a clear boreal lake, two white pelicans sitting on the water, spruce and birch crowding the shoreline, and the forest running flat to the horizon beyond.
About the artwork
Layered green and blue, with two small white shapes doing all the work. The lake is painted in graded blues from pale over the sand shelf to deep in the middle, and the two pelicans sit near the centre — the only bright note, and the reason your eye lands where it does. Around them the shoreline is drawn tree by tree with the spruce dark and the birch pale, and a strip of sand curves through the bottom left. Behind, the boreal forest is compressed into a long band with more lakes glinting in it, under stacked cumulus.
The layout is the Canadian park service sheet used across this series: cream border, small dark capitals along the top reading SASKATCHEWAN · 53.92° N, 106.08° W · EST 1927, and PRINCE ALBERT at the foot in heavy condensed type over NATIONAL PARK, with the Parks Canada wordmark and beaver roundel. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Pelicans on a northern lake. Unexpected, and true — one of Canada's largest white pelican colonies nests in this park.
- Boreal forest properly drawn. Spruce and birch handled as separate species rather than a green mass.
- Quiet water. No drama, no mountains — a calm print for a room that needs settling.
- Grey Owl's park. The conservationist's cabin still stands at the north end of Ajawaan Lake.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Green and blue with a sand accent: an easy cottage or bedroom print that suits cream, sage and pale blue walls. Natural oak frames match the birch. It is a natural companion to Riding Mountain — both are boreal-and-lake sheets from the Prairie provinces, and they hang well side by side.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed and fit standard frames. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Are those really pelicans? Yes — American white pelicans, which nest in the park each summer. The banner along the top gives the park's coordinates and its founding year, 1927.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
