A Portofino travel poster seen from the far side of the harbour: a curved rank of pink, coral and butter-yellow houses standing shoulder to shoulder above their own reflections, white motor launches moored along the quay in front of them, and a steep wooded headland closing the bay behind.
About the artwork
Water takes nearly half the sheet and it is the part worth standing close to. The bay is built from flat ribbons of turquoise and jade that break, on the right, into a long ladder of orange where the tall ochre palazzo throws its reflection all the way down the picture — the one warm passage in an otherwise cool composition. Along the far quay the facades are drawn one by one: green louvred shutters, striped awnings, a pale bell tower half hidden between roofs, plants on the balconies, a black lamp standard on the promenade. The boats sit low and white against all that colour with masts as thin as pencil lines. Behind them the hillside is layered greens with individual umbrella pines and dark cypress spires along the ridge, and the sky is a flat teal rather than blue, which quietly pulls the whole print towards the water. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Italy beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- One long gold reflection. It runs the full height of the water and gives the print its spine.
- Riviera colour, no postcard gloss. Pink, coral and butter yellow, held down by cool teal.
- Every facade drawn separately. Shutters, awnings and balconies reward a close look.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The teal carries a room on its own, so this one earns space on a plain wall rather than inside a busy gallery grid. It sits well on off-white, warm grey or pale clay paint, and beside rattan, glazed ceramic and unlacquered brass. A natural oak frame picks up the ochre in the palazzo; a slim black frame sharpens the water and suits a kitchen or a hallway. It pairs naturally with the store's other Italian coast prints.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Where is the view taken from? From the stone quay on the outer arm of the harbour, looking back across the moorings at the houses on the piazzetta.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
