A Pittsburgh Pennsylvania travel poster seen from water level on the Allegheny. One of the city's yellow suspension bridges cuts diagonally across the top of the frame on a rough stone pier, and behind it the downtown towers stack up in teal glass and pale stone under late afternoon light.
About the artwork
Hard-edged vector shapes with flat colour and long directional shading, so the bridge ironwork stays graphic while the river breaks into fine horizontal ripple bands. The colour split is deliberate: saturated aureolin and amber yellow on the bridge tower, chains, deck and railings, against cool petrol teal, sea green and slate on the water and the skyline. Warm cream and gold wash in from the right side of the sky. Look for the eyebar suspension chains, the lattice deck girders under the roadway, the courses of cut stone on the pier, the street lamps along the walkway and the tall glass tower with pointed gothic spires standing behind the deck. The type reads PITTSBURGH in white capitals with PENNSYLVANIA letterspaced beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The yellow bridges are the city's signature — no other American skyline has that colour running through it.
- A low, close viewpoint — taken from the river, so the pier and the deck have real weight instead of being a thin line.
- Yellow against teal — a complementary pairing that makes the print read strongly from across a room.
- Half water — the lower third is pure river texture, which keeps the composition from feeling crowded.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The teal river gives this print a cool base, so it settles well on white, pale grey or a deep navy wall, and the sage room in the photographs above brings the green in the water forward. The yellow is strong enough to carry a room on its own, so keep the surrounding accessories quiet. Black framing sharpens the ironwork for a home office; natural oak warms it up over a sideboard or a sofa.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The bridge structure carries plenty of fine line work. 16" x 24" holds up on a gallery wall, and 24" x 36" over a desk or a sofa keeps the chains, girders and skyline detail crisp.
Does it come framed? Paper prints arrive rolled and unframed in standard US and A-series sizes. Framed canvas ships ready to hang in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
What does the poster say? Only PITTSBURGH and PENNSYLVANIA. The bridge and the downtown towers are drawn but not labelled, so the print stays readable as a city poster rather than a diagram.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
