A line art wall art print of a loose pencil contour drawing on aged cream sketchbook paper, where a face seems to lie turned on its side among open, wandering lines.
About the artwork
The lines are soft gray and never filled in; many are traced twice, so each edge wobbles and doubles like a quick study done from life. Near the center a nose and lips can be read in profile, with the shape of an eye and an ear higher up on the right, but the drawing stops short of a finished portrait. Below, long angular contours fold down toward the bottom edge like a shoulder or a piece of drapery. Most of the paper is left bare, with a faint warm tint and the slight grain of an old sketchbook page.
Why you'll love it
- Barely there. Soft gray pencil keeps a wall quiet and light.
- A puzzle to read. The face appears slowly the longer you look.
- Sketchbook warmth. Aged cream paper feels personal rather than machine-perfect.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Hang it where it will be seen up close: beside a bed, above a writing desk or in a narrow hallway. Pale oak, linen and a stack of books suit its quiet tone, and a natural or white frame keeps the fine lines from being overpowered. For a pair, set it next to another soft pencil study of heads in the same range.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is there a face in it? Many people see a face lying on its side, with nose and lips near the center, but the drawing stays loose and open.
Is the paper white? No, it is a warm, slightly aged cream, printed as part of the image.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
