This Pantheon Rome watercolor print shows the ancient temple's columned portico and low dome on Piazza della Rotonda in Rome. The scene is interpreted freely in watercolor and ink, so it is not an exact view.
About the artwork
The granite columns and dome are drawn in detailed gray-brown ink over a gray-beige wash, while the surrounding buildings are washed in warm amber and orange. The cobbled piazza is dotted with fine ink marks, and the edges bleed into orange and yellow with long drips on both lower sides. The Pantheon fills the left half with its Corinthian portico, triangular pediment and shallow dome, seen at a downward angle from a rooftop terrace across the square. The Fontana del Pantheon and its slender Egyptian obelisk stand center right, with palazzi and café tables beyond, and red roof tiles and flower pots fill the foreground. The light is warm and sunny with green trees, so no particular season stands out. "ROME" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Rooftop foreground. Red roof tiles and potted flowers put you on a Roman terrace looking down at the piazza.
- Horse-drawn carriage. A carriage crosses the cobbles while diners sit under cream umbrellas.
- Obelisk fountain steps. People rest on the fountain steps beneath the tall obelisk.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Amber, granite gray and shutter green suit a dining room, a kitchen or a living room with warm wood. It is a lovely gift for a food lover who remembers long lunches in Rome or for newlyweds. Pair it with our Rome watercolor print for a two-piece set.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Pantheon Rome? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the Pantheon and its square, and some details, including the season, are simplified.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "ROME," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
