This Panaji watercolor print shows the whitewashed Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception with its zigzag staircase, surrounded by colorful colonial houses. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Panaji, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines trace the bell towers, a bronze bell and the zigzag stairs with their blue trim, and the church is left mostly white paper with gray-blue shadows. Lime white, palm green and the ochre and Goa blue of colonial houses form the palette, with bougainvillea pink, frangipani white and terracotta roofs as accents. The church stands at center with its cross in the upper third, a statue of the Virgin stands before the stairs, and a yellow and blue house sits at left with a red-orange house at right. Altinho hill with red-roofed homes rises behind, and scooters and bicycles fill the square in front. "PANAJI" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Bread seller by bike. A vendor pedals past with a basket of bread.
- Frangipani in bloom. White blossoms frame the side of the scene.
- Scooter square. Parked scooters and white umbrellas give it a lively, local feel.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Bright whites, pinks and ochre suit a sunny kitchen, beach house or living room with turquoise or coral accents. Gift it to someone with Goan roots or friends who fell for Goa on vacation.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Panaji? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the church and its square, composed to bring the hill, houses and street life into one view.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "PANAJI," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
