A versailles gardens poster looking across the formal grounds: gravel walks lined with clipped orange trees in green tubs, marble statues on plinths, a golden fountain throwing water above the hedge maze, and the long palace facade running right across the horizon.
About the artwork
This is a study in green, and the artist separates every kind of it — the blue-green of the conical yews, the flat mid-green of the clipped hedges, the darker mass of the tree line, the yellow-green of sunlit lawn. Against that the stonework glows: a warm cream and honey pavilion on the right with a slate roof, balustrades, urns and ornament along its parapet, and the palace itself pale and precise in the distance. The fountain is a burst of gold at the centre-left, the one saturated note in the whole picture. Long late-afternoon shadows fall across the gravel and are what stop the geometry from feeling like a diagram. The sky is soft blue with fine horizontal cloud. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with France beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Formal geometry. Parterres, hedge maze and avenues, all drawn with the symmetry the gardens were designed for.
- Green with gold. The fountain and the stonework keep a green-dominant print from going flat.
- Enormous depth. Foreground statues to a palace on the horizon, in one frame.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The green reads as calm rather than bold, which makes this a good print for a study, dining room or bedroom where you want something classical without heaviness. It sits well on cream, sage and warm white walls, and beside antique wood, brass and stone. Gold and espresso frames suit its subject; a plain oak frame keeps it modern. It pairs well with the Giverny and Loire Valley prints.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
What is shown here? The formal palace gardens, with the parterres and a fountain in front and the palace facade along the far side.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
