A Mount Magazine poster taken from the rim of the highest ground in Arkansas: a shelf of orange sandstone in full late light on the left, a wind-bent pine leaning out over the drop, and rank after rank of blue escarpment falling away to a valley so hazy that the far ridges dissolve into the sky. A single young pine holds the bottom right corner.
About the artwork
Hard-edged vector shapes with no outlines, built from stacked flat tones rather than blended gradients. The palette splits cleanly in two: hot apricot, tangerine and burnt sienna on the sunlit rock, against slate blue, steel and pale glacier blue in the shaded cliffs and the valley haze. The pines are almost black-green at the top and a softer teal-green lower down, and the sky runs from a deep cobalt at the top edge to near-white at the horizon. The bedding lines in the sandstone are drawn as separate blocks, giving the bluff a stepped, layered look. The title is set in white capitals: MOUNT MAGAZINE, with ARKANSAS below it. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The top of Arkansas — the view out from the state's highest point, drawn from the bluff edge rather than from a car park sign.
- Warm rock, cold distance — the orange foreground and the blue haze do all the work; there is no third colour competing.
- Real depth — four separate ridge lines recede into the valley, so the print keeps reading from across a room.
- For Ozark and Ouachita hikers — a specific overlook for anyone who has walked the Signal Hill or Bear Hollow trails.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The tangerine rock is strong enough to carry a warm wall, so this one suits the terracotta room in the photographs above better than a cool grey one. On white or oat walls the blue haze reads as the dominant colour instead. Natural oak and walnut both pick up the sandstone; black frames sharpen the contrast if the wall is pale. Leather, rust linen and jute all sit well underneath it.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The layered ridges reward a larger print. 18" x 24" works over a console or a desk; 24" x 36" lets the haze and the rock layers separate properly above a sofa or a bed.
Does it come framed? Paper arrives rolled and unframed for your own frame. Matte canvas is stretched and ready to hang, and framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? The print reads MOUNT MAGAZINE across the top, with ARKANSAS smaller beneath it. The words State Park do not appear on the artwork.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

- Reads slightly softer than canvas.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
