A Mount Baker poster from the Heather Meadows side of the North Cascades: a glacier-hung summit filling the top two thirds of the frame, a dark band of subalpine fir along the shore, and a still tarn below holding the whole mountain upside down, with red autumn heather and huckleberry crowding the near bank.
About the artwork
Painted illustration with hard-edged snow shapes and softly graded rock — the glaciers are cut into clean white planes, the rock ribs shaded in slate, dove grey and pale lavender. Below the treeline the palette turns: bottle green and near-black in the firs, olive and moss in the low brush, then rust, brick and crimson in the heather along the foreground shore. The lake is a flat pale blue with the reflection drawn in slightly softer, cooler tones than the mountain itself. Cream cumulus sits along the ridge. White type reads MOUNT BAKER above WASHINGTON. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The reflection is the composition. Half the print is mirror image, which gives it a symmetry most mountain prints do not have.
- Autumn colour at altitude. The crimson heather in the foreground dates the scene to a few weeks in late September and October.
- Volcano country, not just any range. Mount Baker is an active glaciated volcano in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, near the end of the Mount Baker Highway.
- Cool blues, one warm band. The single strip of red at the base stops the print from going cold.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Snow white, slate blue and dark green make this a natural fit for cool rooms — white, pale grey or blue-grey walls, oak or pale ash furniture. A white frame keeps the snow bright; espresso pulls the firs forward. It hangs well over a bed or beside a window, as in the sheer-curtain photographs above, and sits comfortably next to other Pacific Northwest work without competing.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The reflection needs vertical room — 20" x 30" upward. Over a sofa or bed, 24" x 36" is the natural choice. Smaller sizes still work in a stairwell grouping.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? Two white lines at the base: MOUNT BAKER and WASHINGTON.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
