A Moreau Lake State Park poster looking down a wooded corridor: two heavy pine trunks frame the view left and right, a rocky point pushes into the water on the near shore, and a single red kayak crosses the foreground while the lake narrows away between forested slopes toward low blue ridges on the horizon.
About the artwork
Painted in a dense, hand-drawn style with layered needle clusters and modelled bark rather than flat shapes. The palette is cool and green-heavy: slate and steel blue in the water, deep bottle green in the shadowed conifers, olive and pale gold where sun catches the needles, warm tan on the exposed rock of the point, and soft powder blue in the distant hills. The kayak is the one hot note — a small stroke of vermilion against all that blue. Cream cumulus sits mid-frame. White type reads MOREAU LAKE above STATE PARK • NEW YORK. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A framed view, not a panorama. The two foreground trunks turn the lake into something you are looking through, which is how the park actually feels from the ridge trails.
- One small figure. The kayaker gives the whole scene its scale and keeps the eye moving.
- Adirondack edge, Saratoga County. This is where the foothills start, not the high peaks — rolling wooded ridges around a narrow glacial lake.
- A quiet green room piece. Almost no warm colour except the kayak, so it cools a bright room down.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Bottle green and slate blue sit well on white, bone or soft sage walls, and they look particularly good beside wood — oak, pine panelling, a walnut shelf. Natural or espresso frames echo the trunks; white keeps it airy. It works over a bed or a reading chair, as in the armchair and bookshelf photographs above, and holds its own in a green-painted study.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The needle detail in the framing pines rewards size — 20" x 30" and up. Below 12" x 18" the kayaker becomes hard to pick out.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? The lettering reads MOREAU LAKE, with STATE PARK • NEW YORK beneath it.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
