A Meteora travel poster across the valley: sheer sandstone pillars rising out of dense green forest, monasteries with red tiled roofs built right onto the flat tops and ledges of the rock, and a long blue mountain ridge closing the view behind.
About the artwork
Built on an unlikely juxtaposition and drawn to make the most of it — soft rounded rock, hard geometric buildings. The pillars are modelled in warm ochre and grey with vertical water-staining down every face, which is what gives them their weight; the monasteries sitting on them are small, precise and orthogonal, with tiled roofs, arcaded walls and tiny windows all resolved. Between and below, the forest is worked as dense clumped foliage in five or six greens, dark enough at the base of the rocks to make the pillars appear to float. The sky is a soft dusty blue with low cloud, deliberately quiet so the rock silhouette stays the strongest shape. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Greece beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A landscape nobody mistakes for anywhere else. Buildings on top of rock towers, and no explanation needed.
- Green, ochre and rust. An earthy palette that behaves almost like a neutral on the wall.
- Not the Greece people expect. No whitewash, no blue domes — a good counterweight to an island print.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Earth tones with a lot of green, so it settles easily on cream, clay and olive walls and next to leather, wood and wool. It is a study or living room print rather than a bathroom one. Walnut and natural frames both work; white makes the greens go slightly grey. If you already have a Santorini or Mykonos print, this is the Greek scene that pairs with them without repeating the palette.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Where is the view from? From a viewpoint across the valley, looking at the rock pillars with the monasteries on top and the mountains behind.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
