This Mazatlan watercolor print shows the twin golden bell towers of the Mazatlán Cathedral above Old Mazatlán, with the Olas Altas Malecón curving along the sea. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the city, not an exact view.
About the artwork
The sea is a blue-turquoise wash with bare-paper foam around the rocks, and fine ink lines draw the two bell towers, the dome and the stone seawall. The hillside rocks are washed in beige-brown, the left edge melts into blue and violet with long drips, and the lower right blooms in pink and yellow. The palette is sea turquoise, cream facades and palm green, with golden-yellow towers, pastel pink colonial houses and bougainvillea. Seen from the slope of Cerro del Vigía, the cathedral sits right of center among pastel houses, and the malecón curves away on the left toward distant towers and hills. Rocks, palms and a stone wall with onlookers fill the foreground in the warm dry season. "MAZATLÁN" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Open-air taxis. Little pulmonía taxis drive along the seawall.
- Cliff diver on the rocks. A diver stands on a rocky ledge above the surf.
- Golden bell towers. The yellow upper tiers of the towers glow over the old town.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Cream, turquoise and soft pink suit a living room, a reading corner or a hallway with warm terracotta tones. It is a warm gift for snowbirds who winter on the Pacific coast, or for someone with family in Sinaloa.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Mazatlan? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Old Mazatlán, and the cathedral is placed closer to the seawall and simplified in shape.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "MAZATLÁN," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
