A Kouchibouguac National Park poster across the New Brunswick salt marsh: a blue tidal channel curling out between banks of marram grass, low barrier dunes lying along the horizon, and the Gulf beyond them under a wide pale sky.
About the artwork
A horizontal picture in a vertical frame, which is what gives it its calm. The marsh is laid in flat bands of green and straw-gold that get narrower toward the top, the channel is a single unbroken curve of blue drawn from the bottom edge to the dune line, and the dunes themselves are little more than a pale strip. The detail is all kept in the near foreground: individual blades of grass, a bleached driftwood branch lying across the bank, and small dark shorebirds perched on it. There is no rock and no mountain anywhere in this one.
The sheet is the Canadian park service layout used across this series, with the type in warm ochre: cream border, small dark capitals along the top reading NEW BRUNSWICK · 46.77° N, 65.00° W · EST 1969, and KOUCHIBOUGUAC at the foot over NATIONAL PARK, with the Parks Canada wordmark and beaver roundel below. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The gentlest sheet in the series. Flat marsh, one curved channel, no drama — it is a print you can hang where you want the wall to settle down.
- Barrier dunes and warm water. The sandspits shelter the lagoons behind them, which is why this stretch of the Gulf is unusually warm for the Atlantic coast.
- Gold and blue only. A two-colour palette that goes with almost any timber and almost any neutral paint.
- Hangs as a set. Every print in the Canada parks series shares the same border, banner and typographic foot, so a row of them lines up exactly.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Because the horizon sits low and the sky is pale, this print makes a small wall feel taller — good in a hallway, a bedroom or beside a window. Warm white, sand and pale blue-grey walls all suit it. Natural oak echoes the marram grass; white frames keep it airy. It pairs well with Prince Edward Island and Pituamkek for an Atlantic coast row.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed and fit standard frames. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
How do you say the name? Roughly "koo-shee-boo-gwack", from a Mi'kmaq word for the river of long tides. The banner along the top gives the park's coordinates and its founding year, 1969.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
