A Kirkjufell travel poster taken from the riverbed: the mountain rising as a single steep green cone against a clear sky, twin falls dropping over a basalt lip on the left, and a shallow meltwater river running white over dark boulders straight toward the viewer.
About the artwork
Cut-paper handling — everything is built from hard-edged shapes with no soft transitions, which suits a landscape this stripped down. The mountain is layered in four greens that follow its ridges and gullies rather than shading smoothly, so the slopes read as folds. The river is the workhorse of the composition: it takes up the bottom half and is drawn as interlocking shapes of deep blue, steel and bone white, with every boulder given its own wet-dark top and pale rim. The falls are pure white, the only place in the frame with no line work at all. Sky is a single flat blue that gets slightly paler at the horizon. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Iceland beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A mountain shape nothing else looks like. The cone is recognisable at any size, even at 8" x 12".
- Water fills the foreground. The river gives the print texture where most landscapes give you empty ground.
- Green, blue and near-black. A cold, clean palette that suits modern rooms.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The coldest print in the batch and the most modern-looking, so it belongs in a room with clean lines — white or pale grey walls, black or natural frames, concrete, steel and pale wood rather than brass and velvet. It works in a home office and holds up in a bathroom. If you hang it with the Lauterbrunnen or Zermatt print you get a coherent three-mountain set with a shared green.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Where is the view from? From beside the river below the falls, looking across at the mountain with the water in the foreground.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
