A kalemegdan fortress poster looking down over the whole park from above: wide brick-red paths cutting through green lawns and trees in the foreground, the ramparts stepping down the ridge beyond, and two rivers joining into one broad sheet of water at the top.
About the artwork
The viewpoint is high and slightly tilted, so the picture reads like a map you can walk into. The paths are the structure — terracotta paving drawn brick by brick, converging as they run away from you, with small black lamp standards spaced along the edges. Between them the lawns are flat sage green, and the trees are handled as round, individually shaded canopies: mostly mid-green, with one pale cream-flowering tree and two rust-red ones dropped in for punctuation. The fortress walls are soft russet brown, terraced with grass banks, holding a round tower and a low bastion above the water. On the left, park buildings with orange tiled roofs. Beyond it all the rivers open out in flat blue-green with a long low bridge on the right. Pale cumulus sits in rows on a soft teal sky. The city name is set in wide-tracked uppercase with Serbia beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A bird's-eye view. Rare in a travel print, and it gives the design depth a street-level view cannot.
- Sage green and terracotta. A muted, slightly faded pairing that reads like an old lithograph.
- Two rivers in one frame. The confluence gives the picture a geography you can point at.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Soft and low in contrast, so it suits rooms meant for sitting still — a bedroom, a reading corner, a home office. Olive, sage and mushroom walls sink into it comfortably, and warm white keeps it crisp. It goes with cane, aged brass, kilim rugs and mid-brown wood. Natural oak or walnut suits the terracotta; espresso is the choice if the room runs darker. It hangs happily beside the Skopje or Sofia prints.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
What lettering is printed on the artwork? The sheet reads Belgrade with Serbia beneath it. The fortress and its park fill the picture, but the type carries the city name only.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
