A Juneau Alaska travel poster looking along the shoreline of the channel. Two timber houses — one scarlet, one mustard yellow, both with steep dark roofs, balconies and long piles — stand on the rocks under a wall of black spruce. Further down the shore a row of small waterfront buildings and a moored vessel catch the light, and a bare snow-streaked ridge fills the sky opposite.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes with hard edges and heavy layered shading, so the forest reads as three or four separate depths of green. The palette is cold and saturated: bottle green and blue-black conifers, pale grey-blue rock, ivory snow along the ridge crests, slate and steel for the mountain faces, deep petrol water. Against all of that the two houses are pure scarlet and warm ochre, and their reflection runs down into the water as a red streak. Fine texture lines pick out the scree on the far slopes. Typography is white in the upper third: JUNEAU in wide capitals, ALASKA below. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Houses on piles — built out over the rock and water, the detail that says Southeast Alaska rather than the interior or the Anchorage bowl.
- Forest, not tundra — dense old spruce running right down to the shore.
- One red reflection — a single warm accent in a print that is otherwise all green, grey and blue.
- A working shoreline — the small dock buildings in the middle distance keep it a lived-in place, not a wilderness postcard.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The deep greens carry a lot of weight, so give it either a clean white wall or a wall that leans the same way — the sage room in the photographs above lets the scarlet houses do all the talking. Walnut and espresso frames suit the timber; natural oak keeps it lighter. Good in a study, a snug or a cabin-style bedroom.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The far shoreline and the scree lines are small. 16" x 24" or A2 keeps them visible; below that the print reads mainly as houses, forest and mountain.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
What does the poster say? JUNEAU in white capitals near the top, with ALASKA in smaller letters beneath it.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
