A Jokulsarlon travel poster from the black shore: broken icebergs standing and floating on a flat grey-blue lagoon, smaller lumps of clear ice stranded on the volcanic sand in the foreground, and the wall of the glacier itself closing the far side under a pale sky.
About the artwork
The most restrained palette in the whole series — everything is one blue, separated only by value. Ice is described entirely with white crack lines over pale blue planes, so each berg reads as faceted and translucent without a single soft gradient anywhere in the frame. The lagoon is flat and cold, holding upside-down copies of the largest bergs. The single dark note is the beach: near-black volcanic sand along the bottom edge, and the contrast between that black and the ice sitting on it is the reason the print works at any size. Nothing here is warm, and that is the point. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Iceland beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- One colour, done properly. Blue from near-white to near-black, no other hue in the frame.
- Black sand against clear ice. The highest contrast in the series, and it is all value, not colour.
- Modern and quiet. Reads almost as an abstract from across a room.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The coldest print in the catalogue, and the one that behaves most like a piece of contemporary art. It belongs in a modern room — white or grey walls, concrete, steel, pale wood — and it needs some warmth nearby or it can read clinical. Black and white frames both suit it. It hangs beautifully as a three-piece Iceland set with Blue Lagoon and Kirkjufell, and it is the one to buy large.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Where is the view from? From the black sand at the lagoon's edge, looking across the ice toward the glacier.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
