An Inks Lake State Park Texas poster looking up a narrow cove in the Hill Country granite. Weathered pink and tan outcrops fall straight into blue-green water on both sides, shallow ledges run out under the surface in the foreground, prickly pear in yellow bloom crowds the right bank, and low green hills close the far end under a bank of tall cumulus.
About the artwork
Painterly illustration with heavy modelling on the rock, drawn as bedded slabs and rounded shoulders rather than flat vector forms. The palette pairs warm rock against cool water: salmon pink, buff and grey-brown in the granite, turquoise shading to deep teal in the cove, olive and sage in the live oaks and scrub, with clear accents of yellow cactus flower and orange wildflower in the near foreground. The sky is strong blue with white cumulus building along the horizon. Type is printed in white at the base: INKS LAKE above STATE PARK - TEXAS. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Ancient rock, not limestone — Inks Lake sits on Precambrian gneiss more than a billion years old, and the pink-grey banding in the print is that rock, not Hill Country caliche.
- Cactus in the frame — the blooming prickly pear puts this squarely in Texas rather than in any generic lake scene.
- Warm and cool in balance — salmon granite against turquoise water gives the print its punch without a busy composition.
- A constant-level lake — Inks holds its level year round on the Colorado River chain, which is why the shoreline reads so clean.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Salmon granite and turquoise want warm neutrals around them: sand, oatmeal or a soft terracotta wall. Natural oak framing pulls the rock tone forward, white framing lets the water dominate. It sits well in a bright living room with rattan and linen, or on a sunlit console as in the black-framed photograph above.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? 12" x 18" is fine on a small wall since the composition is simple. For a sofa or bed wall, 24" x 36" holds the granite texture much better.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
What does the poster say? The printed type reads INKS LAKE, with STATE PARK - TEXAS on the line below, in white at the bottom.
Where is Inks Lake State Park? Near Burnet in the Texas Hill Country, about 60 miles northwest of Austin, on the Highland Lakes chain of the Colorado River.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
