An Indianapolis Indiana travel poster that takes the whole downtown in one view rather than a single landmark: the Central Canal curving away in flat teal, limestone towpaths and low retaining walls on both banks, packed beds of red, orange and white planting in the foreground, and the skyline stacked behind the trees — the tall spired tower, a blue-green glass block, and cream limestone offices under a hard blue sky.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes with hard edges, tone built by layering rather than shading. The colour splits cleanly in three: a saturated cyan-blue sky and matching teal canal water, a wide range of greens and warm ochres in the park planting with two rust-red trees turning early, and cream, pale grey and glass-green across the buildings. Windows are drawn as fine repeating grids, the limestone paving as an even block pattern, and the flower beds as loose dabs of vermillion, orange and white. Shadows fall in blue-grey across the towpath on the right. The type sits in the sky in white sans-serif capitals: INDIANAPOLIS above a smaller, wider-tracked INDIANA. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The city as a whole — canal, park and skyline in one frame, rather than a close-up of one monument.
- Water leads the eye — the canal curve carries you from the foreground planting straight into the towers.
- Colour where it counts — the beds of red and orange keep a blue-and-green composition from going cold.
- Recognisable roofline — the spired tower and the glass block read immediately to anyone who knows downtown.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Bright cyan and teal want a neutral wall — warm white, pale grey or a soft sand. It suits a living room or a home office where the skyline can be read from a seat. Black frames sharpen the building edges; the pale oak console setting in the photographs above brings out the limestone and the ochre trees instead.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The window grids and flower beds carry a lot of fine detail, so 24 x 36 inches above a sofa shows it best. At 12 x 18 the skyline still reads clearly but the planting flattens.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and rolled. Framed canvas ships stretched and framed in white, black, espresso or natural wood, with hanging hardware fitted.
Is this the Monument Circle design? No. This is the wider downtown view along the canal. Monument Circle is drawn as a separate print in this collection, so search the store for it if you want the monument itself.
What does the poster say? Two lines in the sky: INDIANAPOLIS in large white capitals with INDIANA set smaller below. No street or building names are printed.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
