This Indiana Dunes National Park watercolor print shows the tall sand dune of Mount Baldy above a curving Lake Michigan beach in northern Indiana, with the Chicago skyline on the far horizon. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the shore, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Thin golden washes spread across the dune slopes, and fine ink lines draw each blade of marram grass and the grain of the driftwood. The bottom edge breaks up into yellow and blue washes, with drips running down at both corners. Tree-topped Mount Baldy fills the upper left, and the beach curves diagonally to the right toward the blue water of Lake Michigan, seen from partway up a grassy dune slope. The Chicago skyline sits on the horizon at right, and marram grass and a weathered driftwood log fill the foreground. Clear sun and a busy beach point to high summer. "INDIANA DUNES" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Beach umbrellas. Red and blue umbrellas dot the sand along the shoreline.
- Skyline across the lake. Chicago's towers rise on the horizon, linking the city and the dunes.
- Sailboat and gulls. A white sailboat drifts offshore while gulls circle over a family walking the waterline.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Sandy gold, lake blue and dune-grass green fit a beach-house living room, a sunroom or a kid's bedroom with white walls and light wood. It is a great gift for a Midwest family that spends summer weekends on the lakeshore, or a Chicagoan who loves a day trip to the dunes.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Indiana Dunes National Park? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Mount Baldy and the beach; the viewpoint is higher up the dune, and the skyline is drawn closer and clearer than it usually appears.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "INDIANA DUNES," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
