This Huacachina Oasis poster looks over the crest of a vast rippled dune. Wind lines comb the amber sand in the foreground, and below sits the oasis: a turquoise lagoon held in a ring of date palms, with low cream buildings and red-tiled roofs tucked among the trees. Beyond, more golden dunes roll away to a hazy horizon under a pale blue sky.
About the artwork
Drawn as a flat vector illustration built from fine parallel ridge lines and soft gradients, in the manner of a mid-century travel poster. Amber, honey and burnt gold carry the dunes, the lagoon holds a deep turquoise, and the palm belt supplies the only strong green. HUACACHINA OASIS runs in wide white capitals across the top, with PERU centred beneath it. Portrait format, 2:3 ratio.
Why you'll love it
- An unlikely subject — a working desert village around a lagoon, not another beach scene.
- Warm sand, cool water — amber dunes against turquoise gives the print a natural focal point.
- Texture you can read — hand-drawn wind ripples give the dunes real surface from close up.
- For desert travellers — the buggy and sandboarding stop south of Lima.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Amber and honey tones sit naturally on a sand, biscuit or warm plaster wall, and the turquoise lagoon reads brightly against a soft terracotta one. Pair it with pale oak, cane and linen, a boucle chair and a wide ceramic bowl in unglazed clay. It suits a sunroom, a bathroom with brass fittings, or a bedroom where the low horizon and quiet colour help the room feel calm.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What is the village in the middle? It is Huacachina, a small settlement in the Peruvian coastal desert built right around a natural lagoon. The print shows its cream houses and red-tiled roofs under the date palms that ring the water, enclosed on every side by the dunes of the Ica desert.
What size should I get? Above a sofa or bed, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" holds the wall. For a desk, shelf or gallery grouping, 12" x 18" and 16" x 24" are the easiest to place.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas arrive unframed. The framed canvas option adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
