This Hoi An watercolor print shows the Japanese Covered Bridge (Chua Cau) and the yellow houses of Hoi An Ancient Town reflected in the water. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Hoi An, not an exact view of the town.
About the artwork
The yellow walls are layered in warm mustard washes, with mossy tile roofs drawn in brown ink. The water is painted in horizontal turquoise strokes with vertical yellow and red reflections, and bougainvillea is dotted in magenta on both sides. Mustard yellow and turquoise lead the palette, with red silk lanterns, pink bougainvillea and mossy brown tiles as accents. The covered bridge and a small pink shrine sit left of center, two-story houses hung with lanterns line both sides and a waterside street with walkers and cyclists runs along the right. Wooden boats fill the foreground in the warm dry season, and blue-yellow drips mark the white border. "HOI AN" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Silk lantern glow. Red and multicolored lanterns hang from the eaves and fill a small stall.
- Boats on the water. Rowers in conical hats steer wooden boats, one loaded with flowers.
- Warm yellow facades. Mustard walls and turquoise water give the print its sunny glow.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The mustard and turquoise palette brightens a kitchen, a bedroom or a living room with woven textures. It is a charming gift for a Vietnam honeymoon memory or a friend who loved Hoi An's lantern nights.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Hoi An? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Hoi An. Some details are simplified or rearranged, including the shape of the covered bridge and a narrower waterway.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "HOI AN," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
