A Harrisburg Pennsylvania poster looking across the Susquehanna River at the state capitol. The great green dome sits on a colonnaded drum with a lantern and a gold finial, flanked by long pale stone wings under matching green roofs. A low seawall and a line of shade trees run along the far bank, and the near shore is a tumble of pale boulders above the water.
About the artwork
Flat vector illustration with fine horizontal banding in the water, so the river reads as ripple rather than solid colour. The palette is simple and confident: strong cerulean sky and river, verdigris green on the dome and roofs, chalk white and warm bone on the stone facades, deep olive and moss in the trees and the grass verge, and pale cream-grey on the riverbank rocks. Yellow and white reflection streaks run down through the water from the buildings. Small terracotta roofs sit at the far right of the skyline. Typography is thin, wide-tracked capitals reading HARRISBURG with PENNSYLVANIA beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The capitol from the water — the classic across-the-river view, with the dome set small and the river given room.
- Two-thirds river — the reflections carry most of the frame, which makes it calm rather than busy.
- Blue and verdigris — a cool, restful pairing that suits bedrooms and quiet rooms.
- Pennsylvania beyond the big two — the state capital rather than another Philadelphia or Pittsburgh view.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
This is a cool print, so a warm wall keeps it from going cold. Cream, sand or a soft greige works, and the verdigris dome sits beautifully against the sage green wall shown with the black frame in the photographs above. A gold frame flatters the small brass finial on the lantern. Given how still the river reads, it is a good choice above a bed or in a reading corner rather than a busy kitchen.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The capitol sits small in the upper third, so 18" x 24" and above keeps the colonnade and dome ribs readable. Over a bed, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40".
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? HARRISBURG across the top in wide capitals, with PENNSYLVANIA smaller beneath it. No other text appears anywhere on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
