This Gyeongju watercolor print shows the Donggung Palace pavilions reflected in Wolji Pond, with pink lotus blooming in the foreground. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Gyeongju, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines trace the curved tile roofs, red columns and painted dancheong brackets, and the pond holds soft reflections of each pavilion. Celadon jade and pine green lead the palette with pond blue and tile gray, while lotus pink and cinnabar red add warmth. The largest pavilion sits on a stone base left of center, two smaller ones recede to the right, and a small tree-covered island floats mid-pond. Low rounded hills in blue-violet close the view, and it is early summer, with the first lotus flowers opening. "GYEONGJU" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Lotus foreground. Pink blooms and buds rise from layered gray-green leaves.
- Still-water reflections. Each pavilion mirrors softly on the calm pond.
- Old pine and heron. A gnarled pine reaches in from the left while a heron wades below.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Soft celadon and pink make it a calm choice for a bedroom, spa-like bathroom or meditation corner. It suits a couple who honeymooned in Korea or anyone drawn to quiet palace gardens.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Gyeongju? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, arranged for a balanced composition rather than one exact viewpoint.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "GYEONGJU," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.

- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
