This Guilin watercolor print shows Elephant Trunk Hill and its great stone arch on the Li River, with misty karst peaks behind and a bamboo raft in front. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Guilin, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines trace the limestone cliffs, the rock arch and the bamboo raft, while far peaks are layered in violet-blue washes that fade into mist, in the spirit of ink-wash painting. Jade river green, leafy and bamboo greens and hazy violet lead the palette, with pale gray-white limestone as the accent. The hill sits on the left with a slender tiered pagoda on top, sharp peaks recede at right, and a curved-roof pavilion and boat landing line the right bank. A fisherman poles his raft through the foreground, and the lush greenery suggests summer. "GUILIN" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Cormorant fisherman. A hatted fisherman balances on a bamboo raft with three cormorants.
- Layered mist. Distant peaks dissolve into soft violet-blue haze.
- Bamboo foreground. Green bamboo clumps frame the riverbank up close.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Its jade and misty blues bring calm to a bedroom, office or reading corner, and pair well with sage, gray or natural rattan. It is a meaningful gift for someone who cruised the Li River or loves Chinese landscape art.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Guilin? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Elephant Trunk Hill and the Li River. Some details, including the small pagoda on the hilltop, are simplified or reimagined.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "GUILIN," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
