A Guadalupe River State Park poster looking downstream from under the cypress. Two massive bald cypress trunks with flared, buttressed bases frame the left and right edges, their canopies closing overhead. Down the middle, a group of orange tubes and rafts carries people slowly along the green-blue river, more floaters strung out ahead, and a pale limestone bluff rises through the trees in the middle distance under stacked summer cumulus.
About the artwork
Painterly with heavy texture work — the cypress bark is drawn in long vertical fibres and the foliage is built from thousands of small leaf strokes rather than flat shapes. Colour runs from warm tan and grey-brown bark through olive, lime and deep bottle green in the canopy, to a river painted in shifting bands of pale sage, aqua and slate. Small figures and bright orange tubes give the scale and the only saturated accent. The limestone bluff is chalk-white against the greens. Text sits low in white sans-serif capitals: GUADALUPE RIVER above STATE PARK, a dot, and TEXAS. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- People in it — the tubers make the river feel like a place you spent a day, not just a view.
- Cypress buttresses — the flared trunk bases are the signature of these Hill Country rivers.
- Orange against green — one small hot colour carries the whole composition.
- Cool room, hot state — a shaded, green Texas rather than the usual sunbaked palette.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — stretched and set in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The bark tans and canopy greens sit comfortably on cream, greige or warm white walls, and a natural oak frame practically disappears into the trunk colour. On a deeper olive or clay wall the river bands and the orange tubes carry the print instead. It suits the plant-filled living room and the wide sunlit floor setting shown in the photographs above, and works well in a lake house, den or screened porch.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The tubers are small in frame, so 24" x 36" or larger is where they become clearly readable. At 16" x 24" the print still works as a cypress-and-river scene.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas ships in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
What does the poster say? Two lines in white capitals near the bottom: GUADALUPE RIVER, then STATE PARK and TEXAS separated by a dot.
Is this Guadalupe Mountains? No. This is Guadalupe River State Park in the Texas Hill Country north of San Antonio, a cypress-lined river. Guadalupe Mountains National Park is a separate desert range in West Texas and we list those designs on their own.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

- Reads slightly softer than canvas.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
