A Grund Luxembourg poster taken from the path along the cliff: a sandy track curving down through long grass, the river threading between stone houses in the valley floor, and the upper town standing on the rock above.
About the artwork
The composition is a descent. A cobbled path enters at the bottom of the sheet, swings left and drops away, drawn with individual pale stones and edged with grass, seed heads and a few white flowers, and it hands your eye to the valley. Down there the Alzette is a narrow silver-blue ribbon between banks of trees, with the lower town crowded along it — cream and ochre houses with steep grey roofs, a square tower with a pointed cap, a round bastion, garden walls stepping up the slope. Above that the rock face is drawn as blocky ledges, and along the top of it runs the ramparted skyline of the upper town, pale in the haze, with a spire and a long facade catching the sun. A rock outcrop and a leafy branch frame the left and right edges. Green on green, warmed by the sandstone. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Luxembourg beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- You are on the path. The track starts at your feet, which puts you inside the view instead of across from it.
- Two towns in one frame. The valley below and the city on the rock above, drawn at different scales.
- Summer greens. Grass, canopy and moss with sandstone gold underneath, restful rather than loud.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Green-led and calm, so it works where you want the wall to settle down — a bedroom, a reading corner, a hallway with cream or clay-coloured paint. It sits well beside rattan, linen and light oak, with ceramics in earth tones. Natural oak frames follow the sandstone; a white float frame keeps it airy. Hang it near the Dinant print, which shares the river-and-cliff idea in cooler colours.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Where is the view from? From the walking path on the valley side, looking down over the lower town and up at the ramparts opposite.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
