A Great Smoky Mountains National Park watercolor painting: layer after layer of forested ridges fading into blue haze above valleys of white fog, with a canopy of leafy green trees across the bottom.
About the artwork
The canopy fills the bottom third, and ridges step back in diagonal layers toward a thin band of sky. Repeated soft ridge washes grow paler with distance, and the fog is painted wet-in-wet. More people visit this park than any other in the country.
Why you'll love it
- Layered blue. Ridge after ridge in soft washes.
- Made for tall walls. The portrait format suits the space above a bed, a narrow wall or a stairwell.
- Thirteen sizes. From a small gallery-wall piece up to a 30" x 40" statement print.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, color-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Lovely in a bedroom, a guest room or a cabin. Leaf green, smoky blue and cream pair with quilts and painted wood; a white frame keeps it light.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the color, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? 18" x 24" and up above a sofa or bed; 12" x 18" works in a gallery wall of several parks.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
How is this different from your other Great Smoky Mountains prints? This is the watercolor version: layered ridges in blue haze above valley fog, with no lettering on the image. The vintage travel poster, WPA, screen print, retro, mid-century, panoramic, classical oil, impasto oil, illustrated and landmark Great Smoky Mountains prints are separate designs.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
