A Grand Forks North Dakota poster looking from a rooftop straight down a wide, empty main street. Two and three-storey red brick storefronts line both kerbs, with striped awnings, blade signs hanging over the pavement and cast-iron lamp posts. The road narrows to a vanishing point and the buildings simply stop, giving way to flat prairie and a low horizon under a very large sky.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes with a soft paper grain and no outlines. The palette is built on warm brick: rust red, terracotta and burnt orange for the facades, cream and bone for the trim and upper cornices, wheat-tan for the road surface, and long blue-grey shadows thrown across the pavement from the left. Above the rooftops the sky is a single wash of pale duck-egg blue that takes up almost half the composition. A lone white car sits at the kerb, and a handful of small trees break the brick line. Typography is thin, wide-tracked capitals reading GRAND FORKS with NORTH DAKOTA beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Prairie scale — the town ends and the plains start, all inside one frame.
- A real main street — nineteenth-century brick blocks with cornices and awnings, drawn storefront by storefront.
- Warm and cool in balance — half rust brick, half pale blue sky, which keeps it from reading as either hot or cold.
- Deep perspective — the long one-point view down the road gives a small print real depth on a wall.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Rust brick against pale blue is a forgiving pair. It looks best on a cream, oatmeal or warm white wall where the brick can stay the loudest colour in the room. The walnut frame in the dining nook shown above matches the darker brick tones directly; against the terracotta wall the whole print warms up and the sky turns almost grey. It suits a hallway or a home office where people look at it up close.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The storefront detail is small, so 18" x 24" upward keeps the awnings and signs readable. On a large wall, 30" x 40".
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? GRAND FORKS in wide capitals at the top, with NORTH DAKOTA beneath it. The shop signs along the street are drawn as marks only and carry no readable wording.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
