A gothenburg archipelago poster reduced to almost nothing: bare pink granite, five small red cabins with white window frames, and a narrow turquoise inlet running back between the rocks to a flat open sea.
About the artwork
This is the flattest design in the group and the most graphic. The sky is one unbroken panel of mid-cyan across the top third — no clouds, no gradient. Below it the water sits in two clear blues: a lighter turquoise in the sheltered inlet, densely stippled with cream sun sparkle, and a deeper petrol blue in the open channel at the bottom right. The rock is the surprise. It is warm salmon and coral pink, worked in smooth rounded whalebacks with hard-edged teal shadows in every cleft and a fine speckle of lichen dots over the sunlit faces. The cabins are drawn plainly and almost identically — pitched roofs in dark oxide red, brighter red walls, white trim, one white door, one chimney — set in a loose line so the eye steps from one to the next. A short jetty edge shows below the middle pair, and a thin line of low skerries closes the horizon. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Sweden beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Pink granite. Not grey rock. The warm stone against cyan water is the whole idea of the print.
- Four colours doing all the work. Flat, hard-edged shapes that stay crisp at large sizes.
- Small red cabins. Rendered simply, so they read as shapes rather than detail to squint at.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Bright, flat and cheerful, which suits a bathroom, a laundry, a sunroom or a child's room more than a formal space. It sings against crisp white and the palest blush or blue-grey, and the pink rock ties in with terracotta pots, pale plaster and blond wood. A plain white frame keeps it poster-clean; natural oak warms it slightly. It works as a Swedish pair with the Malmo print, which shares the same wide flat blue.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Is the rock really pink? Yes. These west coast skerries are red granite, and the artwork leans into it, keeping the stone in salmon and coral rather than the grey you might expect this far north.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
