A Gateway Arch St Louis poster seen from water level on the far side of the Mississippi at last light. The arch rises out of the right edge of the frame and lands on a low riverbank, one leg burning orange where the sun catches it, the other still cold steel blue. A single gold line of reflection runs from the base of the arch straight down through the moving water toward you.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes with a fine grain overlay, built on a tight complementary palette: deep slate blue sky, amber and copper on the lit face of the arch, and a river worked in alternating bands of near-black, steel blue and molten gold. The stainless surface is drawn with visible facets and a hard specular streak partway up the left leg. Along the far shore sit a bare winter tree line, a moored barge, a low levee wall and one apartment tower catching the same orange light. Typography is set high in white capitals: ST. LOUIS, with MISSOURI smaller below. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- An unusual angle — low, from the river, so the arch reads as enormous rather than as a souvenir shape.
- Two temperatures on one curve — hot orange on the sunward leg, cool blue on the shaded one.
- Water carries the bottom half — nearly forty percent of the print is worked river texture, not empty space.
- Quiet enough to live with — one strong shape, one strong colour, no clutter.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Slate blue and amber sit well against warm white, greige and pale oak, and the print holds its own on a darker navy or charcoal wall. Natural oak frames pick up the copper in the arch, as the oak console shot above shows; black frames push it colder and more graphic. It suits a home office or a study, where the single sweeping curve keeps the wall calm.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The arch reads clearly even small, so 12" x 18" works beside a desk. Over a sofa or a bed, go to 24" x 36" or larger so the river texture stays visible.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame, wired and ready to hang.
What does the poster say? The printed text is ST. LOUIS with MISSOURI beneath it. The name of the arch itself does not appear on the artwork.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
