A Galveston Texas travel poster taken from the wet sand at the water's edge, looking up the island shoreline. Rank after rank of Gulf breakers folds over and runs up the beach in the foreground. In the middle distance an amusement pier stands on close-set timber pilings, carrying a Ferris wheel, a looping coaster track and a tall red-tipped drop tower against an open sky.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes with dense hatched linework in the surf, so the foam reads as broken texture instead of solid white. The palette splits cleanly: deep petrol and steel blue in the water, chalk white foam, warm ochre and tan on the wet and dry sand, and a soft teal-grey sky. The pier structures are picked out in small hits of red, coral and pale green that sit as the only warm accents above the horizon. A dark line of pilings runs the pier out over the water. Typography is thin, wide-tracked capitals reading GALVESTON with TEXAS beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Island Texas — surf and a beach pier rather than another inland Texas skyline.
- The surf is the subject — more than half the frame is breaking water, drawn wave by wave.
- Blue and ochre — a warm sand diagonal cutting through cool water gives the composition its pull.
- Small details reward a close look — the Ferris wheel, coaster loops and drop tower are all drawn individually.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The ochre sand keeps this from being a cold blue print, so it sits happily on a warm white, oatmeal or clay wall. A natural oak frame pulls out the tan, as in the sunlit wood-panelled room in the photographs above. Hung over a bed with the rust throw shown here, the sand tone ties straight into the bedding. It also works in a bathroom, where the surf texture reads well at close range.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The surf detail is fine, so 18" x 24" and up holds it best. Above a sofa or bed, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40".
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? GALVESTON in wide capitals near the top, with TEXAS smaller underneath. There is no other lettering, and no signage on the pier.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
