A Flatiron Building travel poster drawn from inside Madison Square Park in full leaf. The narrow prow of the tower rises straight out of the treetops, its limestone bays stepping up twenty-one storeys to the crowned cornice, while the streets below fill with cabs, awnings and small figures crossing between the trees.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes with fine ruled window grids, layered against a graduated sky that runs from teal at the top to a pale, warm haze behind the mid-rise blocks. The building itself is worked in bone, sand and ochre with grey-green shadow on its flank, so the wedge stays legible against the busier city behind. Park foliage is built from stacked green shapes — olive, moss, lime and near-black — with pinpricks of red and yellow for people and taxis at street level. The two flanking buildings frame the view like curtains. Text sits at the top in white condensed capitals: FLATIRON BUILDING, with NEW YORK CITY beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The park-level view — the angle people actually stand at, not a drone shot or a flat elevation.
- Green as much as grey — a city print that brings foliage with it, which is rare for Manhattan.
- Detail that holds up close — ruled window bays, awnings, cabs and pedestrians all survive at larger sizes.
- A single landmark, not a skyline — specific enough to mean something to anyone who has stood at Twenty-Third and Fifth.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The sand and ochre stonework makes this an easy fit for warm rooms — cream, clay, camel leather, brass. The teal sky is the one cool note, and it picks up nicely against the sage wall in the photographs above. In a whiter, more graphic room a black frame tightens the vertical lines; in a study or panelled room a walnut or espresso frame matches the building's own tones.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? There is a lot of small architectural detail here, so 18" x 24" is the sensible minimum. Above a sofa or desk, 24" x 36" lets the window bays and street figures read properly.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, with hardware fitted.
What does the poster say? The printed text reads FLATIRON BUILDING across the top with NEW YORK CITY beneath it. Nothing else on the artwork is lettered.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
