A Dover Delaware travel poster looking across a wide mown lawn at the long red brick statehouse. A white columned portico marks the centre, a white cupola with an open belfry and a slim finial rises above the roofline, and dormers, tall chimneys and green copper roofs run out to both wings. Clipped hedges and a bed of red flowers edge the grass in the foreground.
About the artwork
Flat vector illustration built from hard-edged shapes, with texture only where it counts — hatched grass, stippled shrubbery, blocked cloud. The palette is brick red and terracotta against four greens: bright lawn, olive shadow, deep bottle-green foliage and the pale verdigris of the roofs. Cream and warm white carry the portico and cupola, and the sky is a soft teal-blue with tall cream cumulus stacked to the right. Leaves overhang the top left corner. Type reads DOVER above DELAWARE in white capitals. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A capital seen from its lawn — no skyline, no traffic, just the building and the green in front of it.
- Georgian detail kept intact — portico columns, fanlight, dormers, chimneys and belfry all survive the flat treatment.
- Green-heavy palette — unusual for a city print and easy to live with beside plants and wood.
- For Delawareans and civics types — state employees, law students, anyone who has walked The Green in Dover.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Brick red and lawn green want a warm, quiet backdrop — cream, oatmeal or the terracotta wall in the photographs above, where the brickwork picks the wall up directly. The sage green room also works, since the print already holds several greens. Walnut or espresso frames suit its formality; a study or home office is the natural room for it.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The facade carries a lot of window detail, so 18" x 24" upward. Over a desk or a mantel, 24" x 36" lets the dormers and columns stay crisp.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, with hanging hardware fitted.
What does the poster say? Two lines of white capitals at the top: DOVER, then DELAWARE. Nothing else is printed on the artwork.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
