A Diamond Head Oahu poster drawn from the sand at the western foot of the crater. Late light rakes the tuff ridge, turning its ribbed slopes copper against blue shadow, while a set of teal waves peels across the reef in the middle distance and a leaning coconut palm and a striped wooden longboard hold the left edge of the frame.
About the artwork
Painterly digital illustration built from layered brushwork, not flat vector shapes. The colours run cobalt and dusty blue in the sky, cream and grey cumulus banked behind the ridge, rust, copper and terracotta on the sunlit crater face, deep indigo in its gullies, jade and aquamarine in the wave faces, white foam and warm apricot sand. A row of palms and low buildings lines the shore below the crater. Type sits at the bottom in bold white sans-serif: DIAMOND HEAD above spaced letters reading OAHU • HAWAII. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The crater is the subject — it fills the middle band of the print rather than sitting as a bump behind a hotel strip.
- Surf drawn properly — the wave has a translucent jade face and a real lip, not a decorative squiggle.
- Warm against cool — copper rock against teal water is the whole colour idea, and it carries across a room.
- An Oahu print, not a generic beach — the ridge profile is unmistakable to anyone who has hiked it.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The copper and terracotta in the crater face is what to hang it against: warm white, sand or clay walls, or the cream sofa with rust cushions shown in the photographs above. The teal water gives you a cool accent to pull into cushions or ceramics. It also works over a light oak bench in an entryway, where the palm silhouette reads clearly from a distance.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? For a console or shelf, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24" is right. Over a sofa or bed, 24" x 36" and up lets the ribbed texture of the crater wall and the foam detail read properly.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
What does the poster say? The printed type reads DIAMOND HEAD across the first line, with OAHU • HAWAII in spaced white capitals beneath it.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
