A Diablo Lake Washington poster looking down the length of the reservoir from a forested overlook. The water is the milky turquoise that glacial rock flour gives it, a small fir-covered island floats mid-channel, and a snow-streaked North Cascades summit closes off the far end of the valley above ranks of dark conifers.
About the artwork
Painterly digital illustration with fine, hand-drawn needle and rock detail rather than flat vector blocks. The palette is pale sky blue, cream and shadowed grey cumulus, milky aquamarine and jade water, blue-grey granite, deep spruce and olive green, with tan cliff bands and a few rust-red shrubs bottom right. A tall Douglas fir frames the left edge from top to bottom, and a slim road bridge crosses the water on the right shore. Type sits at the bottom in bold white sans-serif: DIABLO LAKE above spaced letters reading WASHINGTON. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- That colour is real — the aquamarine comes from suspended glacial silt, and the print leans into it instead of flattening it to plain blue.
- Depth you can walk into — foreground fir, mid-lake island, far ridge and snow peak give the image four clear planes.
- Cool-toned but warm-lit — a pale sun path on the water keeps the greens and blues from reading cold.
- For people who drove Highway 20 — the overlook angle is the one everyone stops for.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Aquamarine and deep green sit well against white, pale grey and soft sage walls, and they cool down a room that already has a lot of wood. The arched white alcove in the photographs above is a good match: the plants either side pick up the conifer greens directly. In a bedroom, the milky lake tone works with linen and pale oak better than it does with heavy dark furniture.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? On a shelf or console, 12" x 18" or 18" x 24" is enough. For a sofa or bed wall, 24" x 36" upward keeps the far snow peak and the island readable rather than reducing them to specks.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang out of the box.
What does the poster say? The printed type reads DIABLO LAKE on the first line and WASHINGTON in wide-spaced capitals below it, both in white at the base of the image.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
