A Davis Mountains State Park poster that looks up at the pink volcanic crags of the Texas sky islands under a deep teal night sky. Towering cream thunderheads pile up on the right, a white stucco lodge with a red tile roof sits in the grass below, and scarlet autumn trees break up the junipers along the canyon floor.
About the artwork
Painterly digital illustration with dense hand-drawn detail rather than flat vector shapes. The palette runs deep midnight blue and teal in the sky, scattered white stars, cream and dove-grey cloud towers, salmon and rose-brown rock, olive and sage brush, gold grass and bursts of scarlet and rust foliage. Small white scratchboard stars are dusted across the upper third. Type sits at the bottom in bold white sans-serif: DAVIS MOUNTAINS above STATE PARK • TEXAS. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The dark sky, drawn in — real stars scattered across the upper sky, the thing this corner of West Texas is known for.
- Rock you can read — every ledge and column of the volcanic outcrop is shaded individually, so it holds up at large sizes.
- Autumn colour — the scarlet and rust trees give the print a warm anchor that most mountain art lacks.
- A specific place — the stucco lodge and tile roof tell you this is the Davis Mountains, not a generic range.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The teal-to-navy sky reads as a deep neutral, so it settles easily on warm white, clay or oatmeal walls. The scarlet foliage picks up terracotta cushions and rust throws, as in the cream sofa room in the photographs above. In a bedroom, pair it with the teak sideboard and dried pampas look; the gold grass band at the base echoes natural wood and linen.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a sideboard or a bench, 18" x 24" holds the wall without crowding it. Over a sofa or bed, go to 24" x 36" or larger so the rock detail and the stars stay legible from across the room.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, wired and ready to hang.
What does the poster say? The printed type reads DAVIS MOUNTAINS on the first line and STATE PARK • TEXAS underneath, in white capitals across the base of the image.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
