A Davenport Iowa travel poster that stands on the riverfront promenade and looks along a black steel truss bridge as it crosses the Mississippi. The tallest span rises in a single arch above squat concrete piers, then the trusses step down and run flat toward a low far bank. A pale concrete walk and a stepped seat wall lead the eye out from the bottom corner.
About the artwork
Flat vector illustration with hard-edged shapes and no outlines, the bridge drawn as an open black lattice against clean sky. The palette is tight: one strong cyan-teal for the sky, three deeper blues for the river, near-black charcoal for the steelwork, and sand-cream on the concrete promenade that fills the lower left. Spiky fan-shaped foliage frames the left edge in olive and dusty sage. Type sits at the top in white capitals: DAVENPORT above IOWA. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A river town seen from the water's edge — the promenade and seat wall put you on the bank rather than looking down from a drone.
- Strong diagonals — walkway, seat wall and bridge deck all run to the same point, so the print has real pull.
- Black steel on open blue — a graphic silhouette that stays readable even at small sizes.
- For Quad Cities people — anyone who walks the levee, watches the barges or crosses that river twice a day.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The cyan sky is the loudest thing here, so give it a quiet wall — white, chalk or the sage green room in the photographs above all work. A black frame ties back to the steelwork and makes the piece read as a strong graphic; light oak softens it and lets the sand-coloured promenade come forward. Good over a desk or in a hallway where the diagonal has room to run.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? 12" x 18" suits a narrow wall or a gallery grouping. At 24" x 36" the truss lattice keeps its detail and the promenade reads as depth rather than a pale block.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, with hanging hardware fitted.
What does the poster say? Two lines of white capitals in the upper sky: DAVENPORT, then IOWA. There is no other lettering on the artwork.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
