A Creux du van poster taken from the rim on a bright day: a long curved wall of pale limestone bending around a deep bowl of dark forest, with a rocky ledge and a wind-shaped pine in the foreground and the green plateau running flat to the horizon behind.
About the artwork
The cirque is drawn as one continuous sweep, and following that curve from the left edge round to the right is what the print is for. The cliff face is pale cream and buff, cut into vertical ribs and ledges with cool blue-grey in the shaded fissures, and the top edge is a clean line of turf that reads almost like a rule. Inside the horseshoe the ground drops into deep blue-green conifer forest, dense enough that individual trees only appear near the top. The foreground is a warm stone shelf with tussock grass, low scrub and a pine whose needles carry a rust tint, drawn close so you feel the standing point. Beyond the rim the plateau opens as pale green farmland fading to blue, with thin cloud lying along the skyline. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Switzerland beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- One long curve. The horseshoe of cliff is a shape you rarely see in a landscape print.
- You are standing on the edge. The foreground ledge and pine put a viewpoint in the picture.
- Cream and deep green. Pale rock over dark forest, restful but with real contrast.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Cool greens and pale stone make this an easy print for bedrooms, hallways and studies painted white, greige or soft green. It works beside oak, leather and wool, and next to houseplants the forest greens pick up. Light oak frames keep it natural; a black frame makes the cliff line sharper. It belongs with the other Swiss and Alpine views, and pairs neatly with a second upright print of the same size.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
What am I looking at exactly? A natural rock cirque, a horseshoe of limestone cliffs several hundred metres across, seen from the path along its upper rim.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
