This Cozumel watercolor print shows El Cielo, the shallow sandbar off the island, with a large red starfish resting under clear turquoise water. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the place, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Shallow water is built from clear turquoise layers with light patterns on the sand left as bare paper. The red-orange starfish is drawn with raised dots and fine ink lines, and coral heads are washed in mossy green. The left edge melts into pink and turquoise with long drips and splatter. The palette is pale shallow-water turquoise, cream sand and palm green, with coral red from the starfish. The starfish sits in the foreground, snorkelers and white tour boats float in the middle, and the palm-lined shore of Cozumel with thatched beach clubs sits in the background. It is set in the warm dry season. "COZUMEL" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Starfish up close. A big red cushion starfish is the star of the foreground.
- Snorkelers afloat. Snorkelers drift over the sandbar near anchored tour boats.
- Underwater light. Sunlight patterns ripple across the white sand under the water.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Aqua and coral red look great in a bathroom, a kid's room or a bright beach-style living room. It is a fun reminder for divers, snorkelers or cruise travelers who stopped in Cozumel.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Cozumel? No. It is an artistic interpretation of El Cielo and the Cozumel shore, and a few small details on the far coast are added or simplified.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "COZUMEL," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
