A retro western print: a tan playing card sits on cream paper, a single brown star at its centre and a small cowboy boot tucked into two opposite corners.
About the artwork
It borrows the layout of a playing card and then refuses to fill it. One star, dead centre. Two boots, corner to corner, the way a card puts its value in opposing corners so it reads either way up. Everything else is left empty tan. That restraint is what makes it feel like an object rather than an illustration — you read the card first, the boots second, and there is nothing else competing.
Why you'll love it
- A playing-card layout. Rotationally symmetrical, so it never looks hung wrong.
- One star, no clutter. A single focal point on a mostly empty field.
- Flat retro colour. Tan and brown only — no gradients, no shading.
- Small boots, big card. The scale contrast is the whole joke, and it lands.
- Built as a set. Every design in the western series shares one palette and one paper, so any combination lines up.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Graphic enough for a kid's room and calm enough for a nursery, this is one of the easiest pieces in the range to hang in a group of three. Because the design is centred and symmetrical it tolerates being the odd one out in a gallery wall. Natural oak suits the tan; black frames give it a card-table sharpness.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Small works here — 8" x 12" or 12" x 18" in a trio. Go bigger only if it is hanging alone.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Will it suit a nursery? Yes. Flat warm colour, no faces, nothing sharp — it reads as pattern from a distance.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Damage, defects & care
Every piece is printed for you after you order, so we cannot take a print back for a change of mind — please check the size and material first. Our Size Guide shows every size drawn to scale.
If it arrives damaged, misprinted or simply wrong, email us within 14 days with photos of the piece and the packaging. We reprint and reship it free, and there is nothing to send back.
Keep artwork out of direct sunlight. Wipe framed canvas with a dry, soft cloth. Handle paper prints by the edges until they are framed.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
