An Austin Texas Congress Bridge poster taken from water level on Lady Bird Lake on a bright afternoon. The concrete arches of the bridge march away to the left, weeping willows trail over limestone boulders on the near bank, four red kayaks and a pair of paddleboarders work across the turquoise water, and the downtown towers sit small in the far left distance.
About the artwork
Hard-edged shapes layered into deep tonal steps, with a busy stippled treatment on the water that reads as broken sunlight. The palette is loud and summery: turquoise and jade in the lake, cream and sand on the bridge arches, five or six separate greens from dark canopy to pale willow, and hot vermilion and yellow on the kayak hulls and paddle blades. Sunlight is drawn literally, as small white four-point stars scattered across the surface of the lake, with a yellow reflection running back toward the bridge. Overhanging leaves darken the top two corners and frame the view. Type is set in white capitals reading AUSTIN, with TEXAS below it. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The lake in use — kayaks and paddleboards mid-stroke, not an empty postcard view.
- Red against turquoise — the strongest colour contrast in the whole USA series, and it carries across a room.
- Sunlight drawn by hand — the star-shaped glints on the water are what give the print its heat.
- Bats-at-dusk territory — the same span people crowd every summer evening, drawn in daylight instead.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — stretched canvas in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
This is the brightest print in the set, so give it a quiet wall. White and warm cream let the turquoise do the work; the sage room in the photographs above picks up the willow greens and calms the whole thing down. Avoid busy wallpaper next to it. Natural oak framing suits the sand-coloured bridge, while black framing sharpens the reds. It earns its place in a living room, a family room or a sunroom, and it pairs well with rattan, jute and plants.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? There is a lot happening in the water, so bigger pays off: 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" above a sofa lets the kayaks and the light glints read properly. 18" x 24" is the smallest size that still holds the detail.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
What does the poster say? The printed lettering reads AUSTIN with TEXAS underneath. The bridge and the lake are not named on the artwork itself.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
