A Columbia South Carolina poster looking up through the grounds at the State House: a pale granite building with a deep columned portico, a square clock stage above it and a dark copper dome with a small lantern on top, all seen between palmetto palms, flowering crape myrtles and a sloping green lawn.
About the artwork
Flat vector illustration with hard-edged shapes; the palm fronds are drawn blade by blade and the building's cornices, balustrades and window heads are each their own shape. The colour is split between a cool architecture and a hot garden: chalk white, oyster grey and blue-shadowed stone on the State House, near-black bronze on the dome, then five or six greens through the palms, shrubs and lawn, with pale pink and cream blossom clusters scattered across the lower third. The sky is a soft turquoise. Type at the top reads COLUMBIA with SOUTH CAROLINA below in lighter capitals. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Palmettos frame the shot — the state tree does the work of a border on both sides of the print.
- The dome is the subject — dark bronze against turquoise sky, the one hard contrast in an otherwise soft image.
- Blossom in the foreground — pink crape myrtle keeps the bottom of the print alive instead of empty.
- Southern green — layered foliage gives it depth without needing a single street or car.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Greens and soft pinks make this an easy print for a bedroom or a hallway. It looks settled on the sage wall in the photographs above, where the foliage carries straight into the paint, and it lifts a plain white room without shouting. A white frame keeps it garden-fresh; a gold frame plays to the pink blossom and the bronze dome.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The foliage detail benefits from size, so 20" x 30" upward for a main wall. In a narrow hall, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24" still reads clearly.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and rolled. Matte canvas arrives stretched and ready to hang. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? COLUMBIA across the top with SOUTH CAROLINA in smaller capitals below. This is the South Carolina capital, not Columbia in Missouri, which is a separate print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
