A Coit Tower San Francisco poster seen the way most people first see it, from out on the water. The fluted white tower stands clear on the crown of Telegraph Hill, cypress and pine crowd the slope below it, and the raw rock face drops straight into the bay. A white excursion boat crosses the foreground, and the pale span of the Bay Bridge sits far off on the left.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes with clean edges and a limited, confident palette. Two blues do most of the work: a deep saturated sky, cloudless from edge to edge, and a darker teal bay ruled with fine horizontal wave strokes. Against that, the hillside is built from sage and forest greens, warm tan and dusty pink rock, and the tower reads as chalk white with pale grey vertical fluting and an arched observation deck at the top. Small details reward a closer look: a red-roofed house tucked into the rock on the right, a flag on the boat's mast, wake foam behind the hull, and the bridge towers ghosted in pale blue haze. Type is set in white capitals reading SAN FRANCISCO, with CALIFORNIA below. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The view from the bay — water, rock, trees and tower stacked in four clear bands rather than a street-level shot.
- Two blues and nothing fussy — the restraint is what makes it calm enough for a bedroom.
- The boat gives it scale — one small white hull tells you how high the hill actually is.
- Telegraph Hill in particular — a specific San Francisco spot for people who know the city beyond the postcards.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — stretched canvas in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Deep blue with green and warm rock is a coastal palette, so it sits naturally on white, off-white and pale grey walls, and it looks especially settled in the sage room in the photographs above. Against terracotta the pink in the cliffs comes forward. Natural oak or white framing keeps it airy, which suits a bedroom or a bathroom wall; black framing gives it more contrast for a living room. It pairs well with linen, rattan and other blue-heavy prints.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The composition is open and uncluttered, so it works at 12" x 18" beside a bed or in a hallway. At 24" x 36" the rock texture and the boat's wake become part of the picture rather than details.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
What does the poster say? The printed lettering reads SAN FRANCISCO with CALIFORNIA underneath. The tower and the hill are not named on the artwork.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
