A Chiricahua National Monument poster looking out over the rock columns from inside the pines: one tall banded hoodoo standing clear in the left foreground, whole ranks of stacked pinnacles filling the valley behind it, green woodland packed between them, and the blue ranges of southeast Arizona fading out along the horizon.
About the artwork
A finely worked illustration with crisp edges but heavy modelling, so each column shows its horizontal bedding and the mushroom cap balanced on top. The palette is bone, ash and pale gold across the rhyolite, olive through emerald in the oaks and pines, with rust and amber shrubs low in the frame and a blue-grey agave in the bottom corner. Distant ridges drop to soft cornflower and haze. Pine boughs frame the top and left edges. Type reads CHIRICAHUA / NATIONAL MONUMENT in white capitals with ARIZONA spaced below. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Green desert, which surprises people — this is a sky island in the Chiricahua Mountains, so pine and oak grow right up against the rock spires.
- The balanced rock is the signature — the stacked column at left is what visitors come up the Echo Canyon trail to see.
- Real depth — framing pines, a foreground hoodoo, a valley of columns and hazy far ranges give the print four distinct planes.
- A quieter Arizona — the far southeast corner of the state, in the Chiricahua Apache homeland, well away from the busier parks.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Olive green and pale stone make this an easy fit for warm white, sand or soft clay walls, and it holds up beside terracotta pots and woven textures. Natural oak framing keeps it light and picks up the gold in the rock; espresso deepens the woodland. It works over a console or a low sideboard, as in the arched-alcove shot above, where real plants echo the pines.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? There are hundreds of small columns in the middle distance, so 24" x 36" and up keeps them separate. At 12" x 18" the valley reads as texture rather than individual rocks.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, wired and ready to hang.
What does the poster say? CHIRICAHUA on the first line, NATIONAL MONUMENT on the second, and ARIZONA in smaller spaced capitals underneath.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
