A coffee wall art print with the look of a notebook page: two checkered cups stacked on blue grid paper, a French line written underneath.
About the artwork
The checks are painted square by square rather than printed, so the tone wanders — some squares sit dark slate, others wash out almost to nothing, and that unevenness is what makes them read as watercolour instead of pattern. The two handles curl in opposite directions, the upper cup's to the left and the lower cup's to the right, which stops the stack from looking symmetrical. Only the top cup holds coffee, a brown pool with a soft edge; the lower one is empty. The blue grid covers the upper two thirds and then simply stops, leaving the script on clean cream.
Why you'll love it
- Painted, not patterned. Every check squared off by hand, so no two match.
- Handles that disagree. One curls left, the other right.
- Half full. Only the top cup has coffee in it.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Cool blue-grey on cream is one of the easiest palettes to live with, so this fits a kitchen, a study or a bedroom equally. It sits well beside other blue-and-cream work and is a good balance to a loud red or green poster in a gallery row. Natural oak and white frames both suit it.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What does it say? “Une bonne journée un bon café !”, written in script beneath the cups.
Are both cups full? No — only the upper one holds coffee.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
