This Channel Islands National Park watercolor print shows Arch Rock, a dark sea arch off East Anacapa Island, with the island's small lighthouse on the cliffs behind. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the scene, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines trace the rough volcanic rock, and white guano streaks are left as bare paper. Blue and turquoise swells break into white foam, and gold-brown kelp floats on the surface. Ocean blue, turquoise and brown-grey basalt lead the palette, with yellow coreopsis and a red keeper's roof as accents. Arch Rock fills the left half, seen from the sea off the island's eastern tip looking west, with the white Anacapa lighthouse and red-roofed buildings on cliffs carpeted in yellow giant coreopsis. Santa Cruz Island fades to violet across the channel off the California coast, and long drips run from the left and bottom edges. "CHANNEL ISLANDS" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Sea arch framing. The dark arch opens onto blue water and leads the eye toward the lighthouse.
- Sea lions and pelicans. Sea lions on a ledge, two brown pelicans, two kayaks and a small ferry fill the water with life.
- Coreopsis bloom. Yellow giant coreopsis on the clifftops brings a burst of late-winter color.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Navy, turquoise and sunny yellow suit a coastal living room, an ocean-themed kids' room, or a breezy office. Give it to a sea kayaker, a whale-watching fan, or someone who took the boat out to the islands.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Channel Islands National Park? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Arch Rock and East Anacapa, with the cliffs, lighthouse and distant island simplified for the composition.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "CHANNEL ISLANDS," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
