A Cesky Krumlov travel poster from above the gorge: the round painted castle tower rising on the left, the whole red-roofed town packed into the loop below it, a green church spire in the middle distance, and the Vltava running pale and shallow between them.
About the artwork
An aerial view that only works because the town really is arranged this way — a river doing a hairpin turn with buildings on every square metre inside it. The drawing exploits that: roofs at a dozen different angles, all in warm terracotta, tumbling down to a waterline of pale green and cream. The castle tower is the focal point and gets the most work, with its ochre and rose-pink painted bands, arcaded gallery and green cupola. The river is the counterweight, drawn in jade and mint with light broken across the shallows and a shingle bank showing through. Wooded hills close the top of the frame in a deep uniform green. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Czech Republic beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The river makes the composition. The pale bend cuts through the red mass and gives the eye a path.
- A painted tower, not a grey one. The ochre and pink banding is the town's signature.
- Red and green at full strength. Complementary colours, which is why it reads from across a room.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Dense and warm, so give it clear wall and a simple frame. It suits cream and clay walls better than grey, and pairs with wood and leather rather than metal. Natural and walnut frames both work. It makes an obvious pair with the Tallinn print — two medieval red-roofed towns, one on a river, one on the sea. Buy larger than 12" x 18" so the roofs do not merge.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Where is the view from? From high on the castle side, looking down over the river bend and the old town inside it.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
