A Castle Hill Lighthouse poster from the rocks below the tower, on a day when the sea is working. The squat granite lighthouse with its black lantern room sits high on the headland at the upper left, layered grey cliffs step down to the waterline, and the lower two thirds of the sheet is nothing but heavy swell breaking white over submerged ledges.
About the artwork
Hard-edged vector shapes, with the water built from dozens of stacked tonal bands rather than gradients, which is what gives the swell its weight. The palette is cold and tight: petrol and teal blue for the sea, deep slate green in the troughs, cool grey and blue-grey for the granite bedding planes, chalk white for foam and spray, and one warm note in the small green lawn beside the tower. A low green shoreline runs off to the right under a flat teal sky, and a corner of the keeper's roof shows behind the cliff edge. The type reads NEWPORT above RHODE ISLAND in white capitals. Damage, defects & care
Every piece is printed for you after you order, so we cannot take a print back for a change of mind — please check the size and material first. Our Size Guide shows every size drawn to scale.
If it arrives damaged, misprinted or simply wrong, email us within 14 days with photos of the piece and the packaging. We reprint and reship it free, and there is nothing to send back.
Keep artwork out of direct sunlight. Wipe framed canvas with a dry, soft cloth. Handle paper prints by the edges until they are framed.
