This Cancun travel poster looks straight down the coast from the air. In the foreground, rank after rank of white surf rolls in across shallow water. Mid-frame a pale sand strip runs the length of the picture, and along the right edge a row of white hotel towers steps back toward the lagoon and the open sea beyond.
About the artwork
The scene is drawn as flat vector illustration, with the wave crests built from fine white line work stacked over broad bands of colour. The palette stays inside one family: pale sky turquoise at the top, mid teal through the water, deep petrol blue in the troughs, and a narrow ribbon of warm cream for the sand. The composition is a long diagonal, the shoreline cutting from the upper right corner down toward the lower right and pulling the eye along the surf. The lettering across the sky reads CANCUN above MEXICO, set in a wide, airy sans serif. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- An aerial point of view — the coast is seen from above rather than from the sand, which reads as calm and graphic instead of busy.
- One colour family — turquoise through petrol blue with a cream sand line, so it settles into a room without fighting the other colours in it.
- Detail that holds up close — the foam is line work, not a blur, and the hotel towers carry small windows and rooftop shapes.
- A named souvenir — the printed city and country turn a holiday on the Yucatan coast into something you can hang.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The turquoise and petrol blue in this print are cool and quite saturated, so they sit best against a plain white, chalk or pale grey wall that lets the water do the talking. A light oak frame keeps the holiday feeling; a black frame sharpens it and picks up the dark troughs between the waves. The cream sand line is warm enough to agree with rattan, cane and jute, which makes it an easy fit above a cream sofa or in a bedroom with linen bedding. In a bathroom or a north-facing hallway the pale top band helps the wall feel less closed in.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What are the buildings along the right edge? They are the high-rise hotels of the Cancun hotel zone, drawn as a stepped row of white towers on the sand strip between the sea and the lagoon behind it.
What size should I get? Above a sofa or bed, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" holds the wall. For a desk, shelf or gallery grouping, 12" x 18" and 16" x 24" are the easiest to place.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas arrive unframed. The framed canvas option adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
